Objectives of the Course

History of Political Theories courses (I & II) aim to explain theoretically the emergence and functioning of the basic institutions of politics such as the state, constitution, individual, individual-state interaction and to provide the reader with basic knowledge. It is aimed to provide the student with the opportunity to explain the social, economic and philosophical thoughts and transformations that lie behind the basic political science topics.

Course Content

This course examines the names and ideas that are the sources of Western thought. The course examines Western political thought, the views of thinkers such as Ancient Greek, Roman, and Middle Ages Plato, Aristotle, Stoics, Cicero, St. Augustine, and Thomas Aquinas. Political thoughts are evaluated together with socio-economic and political structures.

2.To be able to comprehend the importance of the history of Roman thought.

5.Gaining the ability to do analysis.
