In this course, to students; It is aimed to explain how human rights are understood by some sections of society and the development of human rights in the context of community rights. Although human rights are asserted individually, the rights of communities are often violated. For this reason, human rights protection mechanisms establish regimes to protect communities rather than individuals. This course aims to discuss the structure of these regimes from the viewpoint of Political Science and Public Administration.
Definition and historical development of human rights and democracy; the terms of democracy, freedom, equality, different understandings of democracy, democratic culture, democratic citizenship, rights and freedoms, Children and women's rights, rights of the people with disabilities, rights of immigrants, hate crime, hate speech, discrimination, national and international regulations on human rights (The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Convention on Human Rights, Children's Rights Convention and so on.), fundamental problems in the field of human rights.
