The aim of the course is to discuss the reasons of contemporary level of civiliastion with focus on its historical evolution.
The scope of the course covers the history of civilisations and its effect on present day political, social and economic structures. Mesopotamian, Ancient Egypt, Anatolian, Hittite, Persian, Hellenic, Roman, Turkish, Islamic, Medieval European, Chiense and Indian civilisations are studied by their contribution to the cumulation of common civilisation.

| 1. | Students learn the concept of civilization, know the theoretical discussions about the concept of civilization, and can understand the birth of culture and the concept of modern civilization. |
| 2. | To be able to have knowledge about the elements of civilization and types of civilization. |
| 3. | Students can understand the development of civilizations throughout history and examine different examples of civilizations. |
| 4. | To be able to understand the contributions of ancient civilizations to the history of civilization can be more easily understood. |
| 5. | To be able to conduct political and social analyses within the historicity of civilisations. |
| 6. | Students can better analyze the role of the History of Civilization in understanding our present day and discuss the role of concepts such as enlightenment, imperialism, and globalization in the history of civilization. |
