Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to provide basic information about local governments, to introduce the legal/institutional dimensions of local governments in Türkiye in general terms, to analyze the establishment process of local governments and to increase the knowledge and understanding of students in this field.

Course Content

Basic concepts related to local governments; the central-local distinction, democratization, economic, political, social administrative localization, EU adaptation policies, localization efforts in Türkiye. Municipalities, non-governmental organizations, public-private partnerships.

The need to organize, the main purpose of organizational / priority, how a public / government, the principles of organization.

The units are created to identify areas of Authority and Responsibility: Service Sharing / Sharing Authority.
