Objectives of the Course

This course aims to explain the nature of political science. Within this framework, the titles of power, authority, legitimacy, sovereignty, and authority, as well as the state and state theories that are their embodiments in the political arena, will be discussed. Within this framework, the development of the modern nation-state, the basis of classical and contemporary ideologies, the role of the state in policy making, the relations between the state and the citizen, and democratic and constitutional governments will be discussed. In addition, political institutions and processes will be examined in the course. Elections, participation, political parties, and bureaucracy will be analyzed.

Course Content

What is politics? It will be tried to be explained, and in this context, the subjects of politics, the state, the government, the citizen, and the political systems will be analyzed.

1.To be able to develop their academic skills in analizing political events.
