Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course Digitalization and Social Policy is to provide students with an understanding of the impacts of digital transformation on working life, social policy institutions, and social inequalities. Within the scope of the course, students analyze the implications of digitalization for social risks, social protection, labor markets, and income distribution; and evaluate new approaches and practices in social policy.

Course Content

The course Digitalization and Social Policy addresses the impacts of digital technologies (artificial intelligence, automation, platform economy) on the field of social policy. Within the scope of the course, students learn about the implications of digitalization for labor markets, social security systems, income distribution, and social services; and critically evaluate new social risks and appropriate policy responses. Furthermore, the course examines the dimensions of digitalization related to gender, equality, and inclusion.
