Objectives of the Course

Gaining the ability to grasp the characteristics of environmental factors, the environmental factors of soil, the relationship between plant, water and the soil system.

Course Content

The soil as an environmental factor; as a three-phase system of soil, soil phases, the relationships between volume and mass, plant water; plant water content, plant water potential energy, other physical environmental conditions which affect the plant growth.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Prof. Gönül AYDIN
Learning Outcomes
1.Learns about the relationships between water, soil water, and plants.
2.Understands water retention in soil and the relationship between soil and moisture
3.Learns about water movement and plants' water requirements in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum.
4.Gains knowledge about water movement in soil and water economy.
5.Can express findings and interpretations related to soil-plant-water relationships clearly in both written and oral form, and can report and communicate effectively.
