Objectives of the Course

Enabling students to comprehend the theoretical relationship between the macro economy and agriculture, basic concepts, theories, linkages between macroeconomic policies and policies in the agricultural sector, and to enable them to obtain necessary knowledge and skills to analyze the effects of related policies on the agricultural sector.

Course Content

Scope of macroeconomics, methods for measuring national income, measuring cost of living, CPI and deflators, Classical and Keynesian systems, IS-LM curves, monetary and fiscal policies, Exchange rate policies, budget and balance of payments, macroeconomics-agriculture interaction, seminars on current macroeconomic issues.
