Objectives of the Course

The usages areas of red, green, and brown algae, sea plant harvesting and activities after harvesting, equipments used for sea plant harvesting, products obtained from red algae ( agar, agarose, karagenan), products obtained from brown algae (alginic acid and alginat), products produced from green algae ( moss ), chemical composition of sea plants ( acids, alkaloides, amines, cellulose, glikosid, inorganic elements ), indirect chemical substances effects, sea plants elements used for human consumption (aonori, kombu, nori etc.). Obtaining products from red, green and brown algae and also quality control analysis are practiced.

Course Content

Classify of aquatic plants. The investigation of aquatic plants the point of chemical content and chemical composition. Some procedure techniques of aquatic plants and using of some equipment in aquatic plants unit for harvesting. Application of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) rules in aquatic plants unit. Using of aquatic plants in industry. The quality control of some products (such as agar, agarose, karagenan, alginic acid, alginate, nori) obtained in aquatic plants unit. Investigate of new processing technical.
