• To examine women’s position in social, economic and political life, • To examine the factors which determinate this position by looking at some main concepts such as patriarchy, patriarchal ideology, gender, gender based roles, gender based discrimination, • To examine historically the changes in women’s position particularly by looking at women’s movements and changes in social and economic conditions, • To examine and evaluate two main research areas in Women’s Studies (“Violence against Women” and “Women and Political Participation”) and some important studies in these areas.
