The aim of the course is to provide the students with the practical skills of preparing a scientific research project, collecting data, analyzing, evaluating, reporting and presenting the project on a selected topic.
Definition of science and characteristics of scientific knowledge; definition and explanation of features of scientific knowledge such as the principle of impartiality, correct measure, quality of proof, generalization, static and dynamic aspects; concept and structure of scientific model; assumptions and qualities; research of resource books and expert informants within the scope of subject selection; definition and properties of primary, secondary and tertiary sources. An overview of the rules and standards for field studies that need to be considered when selecting topics.
