Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to determine the needs of dialysis individuals and their families and to provide them with the knowledge and skills to plan, implement and evaluate appropriate care to improve the quality of life, physiology, tools, complications, treatment and care of hemodialysis, to use hemodialysis machine and to follow the hemodialysis patient.

Course Content

Definition and physiological principles of hemodialysis, patient selection for hemodialysis, materials required for hemodialysis, access to hemodialysis, access to hemodialysis, heparinization in hemodialysis, adequacy of hemodialysis, acute complications of hemodialysis, chronic complications of hemodialysis, chronic diseases of hemodialysis, hemodialysis rehabilitation in hemodialysis patients, hemodialysis in special cases.

Learning Outcomes
1.Knows the anatomy and physiology of kidney, diagnostic methods used in kidney diseases and nursing approaches.
2.Dialysis, dialysis indications, types of dialysis, physiological principles of dialysis, knows the necessary materials for dialysis.
3.Knows the indications and contraindication of hemodialysis.
4.Knows the complications of hemodialysis, distinguishes and applies treatment.
5.Knows the indications and contraindication of peritoneal dialysis.
6.Knows the complications of peritoneal dialysis, distinguishes and applies treatment.
7.Learns nutrition and education of dialysis patients.
8.Adopts nursing approaches to ensure optimal quality of life in dialysis patients.
