The aim of the course is to give detailed information about the political, social and cultural conditions of Anatolian Seljuk period; to investigate the different types of constructions built between 12th and 13th centuries ( mosques, madrasah, hospitals, tombs, public bath, caravanserai, zawiya-hanikah ) with regards to architectural characteristics.
In the lesson, not only cultural domains that Anatolian Seljuk Architecture and art environment gained inspiration but also interaction of art in that period with such cultural environments as Syria, Egypt, Persia, Iraq will be dwelt on; structures will be investigated with regards to architectural and ornamental characteristics
