Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is tell (explain) of students written and verbal their wishes and demands with their learned German language knowledge after finish of their studies in tourism sector.

Course Content

The objective of this course is teaching of basic German language which they need during their graduate studies and during their works after their studies so that the students can express after their studies in German language what they want.

1.Reinforces German grammar rules.
2.Can express herself/herself in German and understand what is spoken easily.
3.Ability to organize travel plans with various means of transportation.
4.Learns the prepositions of place, direction and time in terms of grammar and uses them in sentences.
5.Can apply the subjects learned in dialogue and text studies for the tourism department.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
Meeting with students, giving information about the topics to be covered in the Fall semester, reviewing what was learned in the previous semester, learning about various places in the city, giving directions on the city plan
Week 2 - Theoretical
Making directions on the city plan, learning the means of transportation, Modale Präposition “mit” + Dativ, W-Frage “wie”, Lokale Präposition “zu” + Dativ, W-Frage “wohin”
Week 3 - Theoretical
To give brief information about transportation in Germany, to make travel plans and directions with various means of transportation
Week 4 - Theoretical
Lokale Präpositionen: “an”, “auf”, “hinter”,”in”, “neben”, “über”, “unter”, “vor”, “zwischen” W-Frage: “wo”
Week 5 - Theoretical
Brief review of the last lesson, Lokale Präpositionen “bei”, “in”, “zu” W-Frage: Use of “wo”, Lokale Präpositionen “zu”, “in”, “nach” W-Frage: Use of “wohin”
Week 6 - Theoretical
Talking about trips and journeys, arranging schedules, selling tickets, purchasing tickets, getting to know places such as train stations, bus stations, ports and airports, understanding announcements
Week 7 - Theoretical
Preparation for the midterm exam, review of what has been learned and various exercises
Week 8 - Intermediate Exam
Midterm exam
Week 9 - Theoretical
Answering midterm exam questions, general review, listening, understanding, comprehending, answering questions about Customer Services through illustrated dialogue
Week 10 - Theoretical
Temporale Präpositionen: “vor”, “nach”, “bei” + Dativ, W-Frage: “wann”. Question and answer study about what a store employee does during the day
Week 11 - Theoretical
emporale Präpositionen: “in” + Dativ, W-Frage Understanding the topics “wann”, “ab”, “ab wann”, “bis”, “wie lange” through customer service dialogues
Week 12 - Theoretical
Brief repetition of Temporale Präpositions, creating a complaint to customer service, telephone call
Week 13 - Theoretical
Höfliche Aufforderung: Konjunktiv II: “würde”, “könnte”, subjunctive mood, in various places and situations; requesting at a hotel, restaurant, pharmacy etc.
Week 14 - Theoretical
Brief review of what has been learned and Konjunktiv II study

Preparation for the final exam, general replay
