Objectives of the Course

The aim of the lesson is to get knowledge about important places in World’s tourism geography and the places at World Cultural Heritage list.

Course Content

The content of the lesson includes learning of destination concept and evaluation of tourism movements due to the WTO’s separation of World tourism/touristic regions.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
Preliminary information will be given about the objectives, importance, scope, content, measurement methods and sources of the course. World Tourism Organization data will be examined.
Week 2 - Theoretical
Students will learn about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Northern European countries (Finland, Sweden and Norway).
Week 3 - Theoretical
Students will learn about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Northern European countries (Denmark, Iceland and Ireland).
Week 4 - Theoretical
Students will learn about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Northern European countries (Scotland, England and Wales).
Week 5 - Theoretical
Students will learn about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Western European countries (Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Monaco).
Week 6 - Theoretical
Students will have information about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Western European countries (France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands).
Week 7 - Theoretical
Students will learn about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Southern European countries (Italy, Vatican City, San Marino and Malta).
Week 8 - Theoretical
Students will have information about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Central European countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
Week 9 - Theoretical
Students will learn about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Central European countries (Liechtenstein, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland).
Week 10 - Theoretical
Students will have information about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of the Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia).
Week 11 - Theoretical
Students will learn about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of the Adriatic countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania).
Week 12 - Theoretical
Students will have information about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of the Balkan countries (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and North Macedonia).
Week 13 - Theoretical
Students will have information about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Eastern European countries (Greece, Bulgaria and Romania).
Week 14 - Theoretical
Students will have information about the geographical features, tourism destinations and tourism statistics of Eastern European countries (Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus).
