Objectives of the Course

To acquire the ability of reading , writing, speaking , listening and grammar at B1+ level according to CEFR.

Week 1 - Theoretical
Introduction, determining students' readiness using B1 level end of year test
Week 2 - Theoretical
Present simple and continuous, vocabulary on seeing and hearing, listening to check predictions, making a podcast
Week 3 - Theoretical
Subject and object questions, rhetorical questions, vocabulary on languages, giving a presentation about language learning
Week 4 - Theoretical
Asking for, responding and offering help, video activity about someone asking for help, writing a report about trends
Week 5 - Theoretical
Talking about past experiences, present perfect simple and past simple, collocations about making big decisions, reading a blog about bucket lists, listening to a radio interview
Week 6 - Theoretical
Talking about solving a problem, present and past ability, dependant prepositions, reading for deducing the meaning from contex, giving a presentation about an inspirational person
Week 7 - Theoretical
Asking for, giving and refusing permission, video activity about a photoshoot, writing an informal email
Week 8 - Theoretical
Travel experiences, narrative tenses, travel collocations, listening about travel experiences, skim-reading to build a map of context
Week 9 - Theoretical
Articles and quantifiers, gradable and ungradable adjectives, reading an article about Helsinki's transport, listening to a town council meeting,

Telling a story in 5 stages, video activity about someone telling a story, writing a complaint email, using adverbs to give emphasis
