Objectives of the Course

The main aim of the lesson is tohelp the students improve the knowledge, skills and other perfections required by handling the process of management of meeting within the scope of tourism industry.

Course Content

Within the scope of the lesson, firstly, types of meeting and aims of the meetings will be explained. After that, such subjects as the improvement process of tourism of meeting, factors effecting the development of market of meeting tourism, meeting tourism with regards to quantitative and qualitative way organization of meeting will be handled during the term, reinforced by giving examples from Turkey and the world.

Week 1 - Theoretical
Preliminary information will be given about the objectives, importance, concept, contents, methods of measurement and sources of the lesson.
Week 2 - Theoretical
Meeting tourism historical processes
Week 3 - Theoretical
Advantages of meeting tourism will be explained by giving examples.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Information will be given about types and characteristics of meeting.
Week 5 - Theoretical
Factors effecting the development of meeting tourism will be explained.
Week 6 - Theoretical
Meeting organization and the process will be conveyed by giving examples.
Week 7 - Theoretical
Market of meeting will be evaluated with regards to qualitative and quantitative way.
Week 8 - Theoretical

Important cities in meeting tourism
Week 10 - Theoretical
The process and phases of meeting arrangement will be explained separately.
Week 11 - Theoretical
It will be gone on discussing the previous week’s subject (the process and phases of meeting arrangement).
Week 12 - Theoretical
Communication in management of congress and meeting, organizational receivers and factors effecting the purchasing consideration will be dwelled on.
Week 13 - Theoretical
Information will be given about food and beverage and banquet services.
Week 14 - Theoretical
General review will be done and deficiencies will be made up for.
