Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to teach the basic German language which students need in their future education and business life in detail and to express themselves in German.

Course Content

The objective of this course is teaching of basic German language which they need during their graduate studies and during their works after their studies so that the students can express after their studies in German language what they want.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
Providing information about the topics to be covered in the spring semester, reviewing what was learned last semester, and introducing the new unit
Week 2 - Theoretical
Reading and understanding a sample tour program: King II. Ludwig and his palaces
Week 3 - Theoretical
Listening to, understanding, comprehending, and answering questions about the topic of clothing through illustrated dialogue; singular and plural forms of clothing with their articles; asking for opinions about clothing; expressing opinions; demonstrative pronouns der, die, das, their simple and accusative forms; exercises related to the topic
Week 4 - Theoretical
The dative case of personal pronouns, verbs taking the dative, complimenting people on their clothes, German culture activity study on "Mindmap"
Week 5 - Theoretical
Short review of the last lesson, superlative degrees of adjectives: Komparativ (close superlative degree), Superlative (most superlative degree), their favorite foods, their skills, what they do in their free time, etc. Written and oral work using superlative adjectives
Week 6 - Theoretical
The use of the question article “Welch-“ and the demonstrative pronouns in the form of questions and answers
Week 7 - Theoretical
Providing information about the departments and the items sold there, the floors in the shopping mall, obtaining/giving information from customer services, asking the sales consultant about the price, color, size of a product, purchasing
Week 8 - Theoretical
Preparing for the midterm exam, repetition of what has been learned and various exercises

Week 10 - Theoretical
Answering midterm exam questions, general review, introduction to a new topic, celebrations topic Listening, understanding, comprehension, and answering questions through illustrated dialogue. Providing information about ordinal numbers (Ordinalzahlen), months, seasons, festivals, holidays, and important days celebrated in Germany and our country
Week 11 - Theoretical
Accusative case of personal pronouns (Akkusativ), “für” Präposition
Week 12 - Theoretical
Repetition of the last topic, exercises, conjunctions “denn” and “weil”, exercises
Week 13 - Theoretical
Writing an invitation letter/e-mail and writing a positive and negative response to it
Week 14 - Theoretical
German culture: Reading, understanding, and congratulatory phrases related to various holidays and celebrations in Germany
Week 15 - Theoretical
Foreign exchange transactions, various dialogue exercises related to the subject, car rental, obtaining/providing information about the vehicle's features, various dialogue exercises related to the subject, preparation for the final exam, general review
