Objectives of the Course

Art, artist, fine art, what is aesthetically pleasing to answer questions. To know the developmental stages of art from prehistory to the present day. Work area to learn about art history. Turkish art and know the important points.

Course Content

What is Art? The main fields of art. What are the concepts of style and form? What are the concepts of archaic, classical, and realist styles? Art in prehistoric times. Art in the period of societies that were able to establish states. The development of art in monarchical societies. Art in democratic societies. Modern art. Abstract art. The history of art history. The concept of Turkish art. A comparative introduction to Islamic and modern aesthetics. Introduction to Western art and its pioneering circles. Basic knowledge of forms and concepts related to pre-Christian and Christian Western art is provided; Western art history styles and schools are introduced chronologically. Furthermore, examples such as Indian and Chinese art are discussed.
