Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course: is to enable the students to understand the importance of the media in evaluating the rights of women and children; and interpret the news in the media and convey the benefits and harms of these contents to child development.

Course Content

To examine the concepts and theoretical approaches related to gender. To show how gender is built. To determine the relationship between gender and power. To reveal the role of the media in the reproduction of gender. To put forward the policies of the media on the body. To put forward the sexist representations in the media. To analyze the masculine language in the media. To determine the effects of the media's sexist policies on discriminatory and hate speech.
