Objectives of the Course

In this course, which deals with the question "What is philosophy?", examples of doing philosophy from the works of different thinkers in the history of philosophy are shown and the general framework of the basic fields of philosophy (for example, philosophy of being, philosophy of knowledge and ethics) is drawn.

Course Content

The difference of philosophy from other fields in terms of the way it operates, its modes of knowing and being, and what a concept is are explained. "What is it?" is put forward as the basic determining question of philosophy. Information is given about philosophy of being, philosophy of knowledge, philosophy of art and ethics.

The problem of the possibility of knowledge: Dogmatism and scepticism

Basic concepts of metaphysics or philosophy of being: Classical Metaphysics of Essence and the Philosophy of Being.
