Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce the fundamental components, types, and processes of communication, enabling students to develop a conceptual framework about communication. It examines the historical development, functioning, and individual/social impacts of verbal, written, visual, and digital forms of communication. The course also aims to improve students' ability to communicate effectively on both individual and societal levels. Additionally, it focuses on learning basic communication models and understanding the main approaches and paradigms of interpersonal and mass communication.

Course Content

This course introduces the fundamental concepts, processes, and approaches related to the field of communication. It explores the basic characteristics and historical development of verbal, written, visual, and digital forms of communication. From interpersonal to mass communication, various types of communication are examined within a theoretical framework. The course also discusses communication models, paradigms, cultural contexts, and the influence of communication on individual-society relations. As an introductory course, it provides a foundation for students to engage in more advanced theoretical and practical communication studies.
