Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to define the relationship between mythologyand art. The mythological symbols which are essential for art branchessuch as cinema, literature and painting are aimed to be solved by iconography method.

Course Content

Mitoloji ve sanat arasındaki ilişkiyi inceleyerek, mitoloji konulu eserlerin örneklerle anlatıldığı derstir.

Learning Outcomes
1.Learn about the relationship of mythology and art.
2.Comprehend the cultural and ideological functions of mythology
3.Have knowledge about the Greek and Roman mythologies which form the basis of Western art.
4.Have knowledge about East, Scandinavian and Egyptian mythologies and identify the differences according to the cultural structure.
5.Make iconographic analysis of mythology themed works
