Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to teach students editing theories and fundamental editing principles, and to enable them to carry out practical editing exercises using digital editing software.

Course Content

This course provides both a theoretical and practical introduction to digital video editing. Topics include a brief history of editing, editing theories, narrative structure, editing aesthetics, rhythm and pacing, visual continuity, cutting techniques, and the relationship between sound and image. Students will learn fundamental editing skills using industry-standard software (Adobe Premiere Pro) and complete short editing projects throughout the semester.

5.Develops editing solutions tailored to different media types.
