Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce various program types and broadcast formats used in radio, television, and new media platforms; to provide an understanding of their historical development, content structures, target audience characteristics, and production processes. Within the scope of the course, students will analyze the structural and aesthetic features of different genres such as news, documentary, drama, talk shows, game shows, reality programs, and sports broadcasting, and develop the skills to design their own original program concepts.

Course Content

This course covers the structural, functional, and aesthetic analysis of program types and broadcast formats used in radio, television, and new media. Students will explore major genres such as news, documentary, drama, talk shows, game shows, reality programs, and sports broadcasting, as well as emerging formats on digital platforms. The course focuses on the historical development of genres and formats, target audience analysis, content planning techniques, and production methods.
