Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to teach students traditional film criticism methods and provide them with the opportunity to experience how these methods can be applied through new media tools.

Course Content

Students will both gain theoretical knowledge and develop their critical thinking, analytical, and digital content production skills by producing weekly podcasts.

Learning Outcomes
1.Learns the fundamental concepts and theoretical foundations of film criticism.
2.Evaluates films within their aesthetic, cultural, and social contexts.
3.Develops the ability to analyze films from a critical perspective.
4.Interprets films by analyzing their narrative techniques, as well as their visual and auditory elements.
5.Produces film criticism content through new media platforms (such as podcasts, blogs, and social media).
6.Gains proficiency in audio content production, editing, and presentation.
7.Effectively develops ideas and expresses them through structured critical writing or podcasting.
8.Collaborates within a group to create innovative film criticism projects.

Forms of Criticism in New Media - Criticism through podcasts, YouTube, and social media - Digital media language and narrative structure

Podcast Format and Content Development - Creating titles, scriptwriting - Sound recording techniques, pacing, and narrator’s voice
