Objectives of the Course

This course is an introduction to the sociological analysis of economic activity. The sociology of economics, which emerged as a sub-discipline in the last quarter of a century, has studied three main themes: the first is the examination of the preconditions and constraints of the economic processes defined by economists. Second, it has been to produce economic models for social phenomena that seldom enter the workplace of the economy. Finally, attempts have been made to create alternatives to phenomena that are only formulated in economic terms. This course aims to provide a general idea of ??these approaches in economics sociology. It is also intended to introduce different sociological views on economic activities such as production, consumption and distribution. In addition, the economic structure and the economic mentality of the Ottoman State and the Republic of Turkey are examined throughout the period, with the concepts developed by the sociology of economics.

Course Content

The content of economics in the context of sociology will be introduced and it will be an introduction to the theory of behavioral economics from theories of new economic theory.
