Objectives of the Course

This course aims to raise awareness of the relationship between city and culture and the historicity of this relationship. It aims to enable participants to consider the multi-layered structure of the urban phenomenon in a better light and to discuss it with a critical approach.

Course Content

Within the scope of the course, the role of the city in the history of civilization, its mission as a field of cultural interaction and its reflections today are discussed.Therefore, both a selective reading of urban history and the use of this historical reading in evaluations of the present and the future determine the main framework of this course.
