Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is teaching of basic German language which they need during their graduate studies and during their works after their studies so that the students can express after their studies in German language what they want.

Course Content

The aim of this course is tell (explain) of students written and verbal their wishes and demands with their learned German language knowledge after finish of their studies in tourism sector.

Learning Outcomes
1.Can use food and beverage names in sentences.
2.Can ask the price of something by specifying the quantity.
3.Can express food and beverages liked/disliked with simple sentence structures.
4.Can introduce the house/flat with the items inside.
5.Can read and understand rental/sale house advertisements.
6.Learns numbers (up to one million), colors, basic (most commonly used) adjectives and compound words.
7.Learns grammatically definite and indefinite articles, plurals, irregular verb conjugations in present tense, personal pronouns in bare form, and negative sentence structures.

Introduction of the course

Learning food and beverage names, establishing simple phrases
Week 3 - Theoretical
Indefinite and negative articles, negative sentence structures (nicht)
Week 4 - Theoretical
Numbers (20-100), Singular and plural structures, usages without articles (Nullartikel)
Week 5 - Theoretical
Yes-no questions, asking price, quantity patterns
Week 6 - Theoretical
Present tense conjugations of irregular verbs
Week 7 - Theoretical
Talking about food liked/disliked, gern/nicht gern structures
Week 8 - Theoretical
Midterm exam preparation, general review
Week 9 - Theoretical
Solving exam questions, reading simple reading passages
Week 10 - Theoretical
Learning the names of the items in the house and the parts of the house, adverbs indicating the location (lokale Adverbien: hier/dort)

Definite and indefinite articles, adjectives, Use of personal pronouns instead of nouns, present tense conjugation of the verb 'gefallen'
