Objectives of the Course

The purpose is provided to students approaches, methods about measurement.

Course Content

Measurement in psychology and science, standard measuring, stimuli and response types, validity, construct validity, statistical description, continuos and categorical variables, correlation, measuring error, reliability, factor analyses, new developments about tests.

Week 1 - Theoretical
Basic concepts of measurement and evaluation
Week 2 - Theoretical
Basic principles of psychological measurement and evaluation. Examining the concepts of measurement, evaluation, criterion, measurement unit, error in measurement, etc.
Week 3 - Theoretical
Definition of psychological tests, their features, classification, purposes of use and historical development of psychological tests
Week 4 - Theoretical
Scales and Standard Scores
Week 5 - Theoretical
RELIABILITY: Errors affecting the general reliability model of Classical Test Theory, definition of reliability and reliability coefficient
Week 6 - Theoretical
Reliability estimation methods: Test-retest, parallel test, split-half methods. Reliability estimation methods based on material covariances, standard error of measurement and calculation.
