The aim of this course is for students to understand the need and importance of addressing psychology issues in a cultural context, to become aware of the effects of cultural differences on cognitive processes, language, communication, socialization, self, and close relationships, and to discuss psychological knowledge regarding health, education, and business life in a global context.
This course comprehends the topics of the relations between psychology and culture, the concepts of cultural, cross-cultural, indigenious psychologies, theory and methodology in cultural psychology, human development in an environment, socialization, family and family change, culture and self identity, cognitive processes and culture, intercultural communication, acculturation, living in a global world, interpersonal relations, sexuality, health, education and working life in relations with culture.
