Objectives of the Course

In addition to the definition and research methods of psychopharmacology, the role of various neurotransmitters in mental and motor functions, the psychoactive effect mechanisms of addictive substances and psychiatric drugs.

Course Content

Neurobiological processes underlying psychopathology and psychopharmacological intervention; basic concepts of psychopharmacology; psychopharmacological drugs such as antidepressants, anxiolytics, antipsychotics, psychostimulants, opiate analgesics, sedative hypnotics, hallucinogens within the scope of psychiatric interventions based on biological models and their effects and mechanisms of action in the central nervous system; their use in psychological disorders.
