Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to learn what communication is and the elements of communication. To learn the language and communication characteristics of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Learn about alternative communication methods.

Course Content

Communication and its components, Communication properties and problems of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Receptive language problems, Expressive language problems, Alternative communication systems, Technology-free, Low-tech and high-tech communication methods, Sign systems, Visual support systems, Communication folder, Communication board, Blackboard, Alternative communication systems, Visual charts, Object matching, Picture used and/or written activity charts.

1.Will know components of communication and possible communication problems
