Objectives of the Course

To provide pre-service teachers to construct the basic concepts of mathematics such as logic, proof, set, relation, function, permutation and operations and improve procedural and conceptual skills for these concepts.

Course Content

Symbolic logic, quantifiers and proof techniques. Sets, algebra of sets. Family of set, fragmentation of family of sets. Product sets, relations. The inverse of the relation, combination of the relations. Equivalence relations and equivalence classes. Sort relations. Partial-ordered set, fully-ordered set. Functions, one-to-one functions and surjective functions, combination of functions, inverse of functions. Permutations, operations.
