Objectives of the Course

To teach the properties of matrices and determinants. To provide students to solve linear equations in different ways by using matrices.

Course Content

Matrices, operations in matrices, special types of matrices. Elementary operations, echelon matrix, elementary matrices. The inverse of matrix and the rank of matrix. Determinant, properties of determinant function. Linear equation systems, solving methods of linear equation systems (Gaussian elimination, Gauss-Jordan reduction, inverse matrix and Kramer method).

1.Students will make addition and multiplication with the matrices.
2.Students will solve problems related to the inverse of a matrix and the rank of a matrix.
3.Students will explain properties of determinant function.
4.Students will explain matrices and linear equation systems.
5.Students will solve linear equations with elementary operations.
6.Students will solve linear equations with Gauss-Jordan reduction method.
7.Students will solve linear equations with Kramer method.
