Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide preservice teachers to know the objectives and basic principles of primary school mathematics teaching, to understand the aims, content, philosophical approaches, appropriate teaching methods and measurement-evaluation techniques of primary school mathematics curriculum and to be aware of the misconceptions and difficulties encountered by students.

The aim and basic principles of primary school mathematics teaching, examining primary school mathematics curriculum in terms of its purpose, content, philosophical approach, teaching methods, assessment and evaluation techniques, primary school students' mathematical understanding, misconceptions and difficulties, assessment and evaluation in primary school mathematics lessons.
