Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to make students aware of emotional feedback and effective communication skills and to use knowledge and skills in realizing the emotions experienced by nursing students in their relationships with people.

Course Content

Communication skills, situations affecting interpersonal communication, types of communication, verbal-nonverbal communication, helping skills.

Learning Outcomes
1.Learning to define the concept of crisis, identify the factors that cause crisis, and use crisis intervention initiatives in patient care.
2.Becoming aware of patient behaviors that create difficulties in the relationship, knowing the reasons for these behaviors, and learning to cope with these behaviors.
3.Learning to communicate in special situations.
4.Knowing how to approach anger and angry individuals/patients and learning to help angry individuals/patients cope with their anger.
5.Learning the models of giving bad news to patients and families and the rules of giving bad news to patients and families.
