Objectives of the Course

This course aims to teach students the nurse's role in the organ transplantation process, covering ethical, legal, clinical, and technological aspects, and to equip them with the knowledge and skills related to donor and recipient care.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamentals of organ transplantation, including its history, ethical and legal regulations, the national coordination system, immune response, and immunosuppression. It provides in-depth knowledge on donor and recipient evaluation, the management of patients diagnosed with brain death, and nursing care following the transplantation of various organs (kidney, liver, heart, lung, etc.). The course also addresses special patient groups, long-term follow-up, discharge education, and current technological advances in transplantation.
