The aim of this course is to train students who can approach patients with stoma holistically, plan their care, and use the knowledge, skills, methods and practices regarding stoma care nursing in current guidelines.
This lesson; type of stomas, situations in which a fecal stoma should be opened, situations in which a urinary stoma should be opened, fecal and urinary stoma surgery, preoperative preparation of the patient who will undergo stoma surgery (stoma site marking), nursing care after stoma surgery, stoma care products, stoma patient education, stoma complications and nursing care. It includes topics such as nutrition and sexual life of the stoma patient, spiritual and psychosocial care of the stoma patient, home care of the stoma patient, and evidence-based recommendations for stoma care.
