Objectives of the Course

To use efficiently basic principles, concepts, functions and process of mental health and psychiatric nursing and all the information, skills and attitudes learned in this field; in holistic approach and interaction with other health disciplines; to save, maintain, and improve mental health of person, family and public; to give appropriate care to a person with mental health problem.

Course Content

Focuses on preparing care plan in direction of nursing process for people with mental disorder; Treatment methods used in mental health and psychiatry field; Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Nursing Responsibilities; Emergency Cases in Psychiatry and Emergency Psychiatric Nursing; Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Nursing; Development Periods and Mental Problems and Public Mental Health Services and Nursing Profession. Students practice 8 hours a week in psychiatric clinics.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to give care a person with mental disorder in direction of nursing process
2.To know Treatment Methods Used in Mental Health and Psychiatry
3.To know mental health services and nursing responsibilities and to practise
4.To be able to discuss Consultation Liaison Psychiatric Nursing applications in general hospitals
5.To know works of Emergency Cases in Psychiatry and Emergency Psychiatric Nursing and to practise
