Focuses on communication in proffessional, theory and skills, which have application to personal and professional situations. Midwifery students practice increasing their interpersonal effectiveness. Midwifery students, be able to apply special professional skills for patient and healthy person. Content includes listening skills, problem solving, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, group dynamics, assertive skills and communication within organizational structures.
This course covers the communication process and types of communication, self-knowledge / awareness, variables affecting communication, verbal and non-verbal communication, empathy and understanding patient behavior, speaking with I language / you language, techniques that facilitate communication with the patient, therapeutic and non-therapeutic communication techniques, assertiveness, obstacles affecting the quality of communication and elimination of these obstacles, communication in special situations related to the patient, communication with child patients and their parents, communication for the stages of women's life.
