Objectives of the Course

To provide knowledge about normal childbirth, the postpartum period and follow-up and care of the normal newborn delivery room intrapartum to follow-up, to make a normal birth, postpartum care delivery and follow-up and maintain a normal newborn delivery room skills.

Course Content

Factors that play a role in the act on the normal physiology of labor, the act of a normal birth pain of labor, I., II., III. And IV phase of the mother's care and monitoring, evaluation and care of the newborn in the delivery room, the action on the initiatives, post-partum care, home birth, childbirth, the midwife's role and responsibilities in the postpartum period.

Learning Outcomes
1.Explains the physiology and stages of normal labor and possible discomfort in the mother.
2.Evaluates the health of the mother and fetus during labor and can distinguish abnormalities and health problems.
3.Applies interventions and necessary care to ensure the mother's comfort during labor and prepares the mother for birth.
4.Performs the necessary monitoring during the birth process and ensures the delivery of the baby and placenta.
5.Knows the physiology of the postpartum period and makes evaluations and practices to protect and improve the health of the mother and the newborn.
6.Evaluates the mother's and family's adaptation to parenting roles.
7.Provides health education and consultancy on issues that mothers and families need.
8.Knows patient safety and ethical issues in the birth and postpartum period and develops solutions for these issues.
