Objectives of the Course

Understanding the basic concepts, theories and principles of midwifery care, understanding the individual, family and collective approach to basic human needs and acquiring basic knowledge and skills in midwifery care.

Course Content

Healthy Hospital Environment, Hospital Admission and Discharge, Asepsis, Body Mechanics, Hygiene, Life Findings, Hot and Cold Applications, Pain, Sleep, Fluid-Electrolyte and Registration.

Learning Outcomes
1.Knows the basic concepts of the midwifery profession and explains basic human needs.
2.It can determine the basic care needs of the individual and provide personal care and hygiene support appropriate to their needs.
3.Observes, collects data and creates a care plan in line with the midwifery process in patient care.
4.Takes necessary precautions for patient safety and preventing the risk of falls.
5.Can apply basic midwifery skills required for the care of the individual.
6.Understands asepsis, antisepsis, disinfection, sterilization methods and applications.
7.Understand the basic principles of midwifery practice.
8.Knows the effects of inactivity on the organism, applies positioning and patient mobilization techniques appropriate to body mechanics.
9.Accurately measures, evaluates and records vital signs.
10.Provides basic midwifery care while respecting patient rights and confidentiality.
11.Supports patient care in basic nutrition and fluid electrolyte balance.
