Objectives of the Course

This course aims at to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitude related to midwifery services, planning, organization, implementation, evaluation and coordination of management activities.

Course Content

Basic concepts in management, management organization in health services and the role of the midwife, hospital quality standards, midwifery services management process, power and authority, psychological resilience, manager and leadership characteristics, problem solving and decision making, change in midwifery, time management, legal regulations related to midwifery, responsibilities of the manager midwife regarding in-service training and lifelong learning

1.Can explain basic concepts related to management in midwifery
2.Can explain management organization in health services and the role of the midwife in this organization
3.Can explain hospital quality standards and their importance at international and national levels

5.Can explain power and authority and list sources of power in midwifery
6.Can explain psychological resilience (job stress, burnout and job satisfaction) and the importance of psychological resilience in midwifery
7.Can list manager and leadership characteristics
8.Can explain the concepts and processes of problem solving and decision making (conflict management)
9.Can explain change and the importance of change in midwifery
10.Can explain time management and its importance in midwifery
11.Can list legal regulations related to midwifery
12.Can explain the responsibilities of the manager midwife regarding in-service training and the importance of lifelong learning
