Objectives of the Course

To raise awareness about swallowing disorders and its rehabilitation, to teach the oral motor dysfunctions that occur due to many reasons in adult and pediatric populations, to provide information about appropriate evaluation of swallowing disorder and rehabilitation approaches.

Course Content

Within the scope of the course, anatomical, physiological and functional features of the orofacial area, stages of motor development, conditions causing swallowing dysfunction and their evaluation, discussion of appropriate physiotherapy methods and literature review will be included.

Learning Outcomes
1.Makes the necessary evaluation, definition and planning for physiotherapy and rehabilitation applications by using the theoretical and applied concepts and principles related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
2.Implements the physiotherapy and rehabilitation program systematically and safely within the framework of ethical principles, using the advanced knowledge and skills he has acquired; terminates or changes as necessary.
3.When the student completes this course: - Gains knowledge about swallowing disorders and rehabilitation.
