Objectives of the Course

To express the clinical features and reasons of movement and function impairments after stroke, provide the understanding and practicing of the basic features related to neurophysiological approaches, measurements and assessments in stroke and cerebral palsy rehabilitation and develop the problem solving mechanism in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation after stroke and cerebral palsy based on neurodevelopmental therapy.

Clinical features after stroke and cerebral palsy, conceptual dimension of the neurophysiological (Bobath) approaches, measurement, assessment and treatment approaches in neurophysiological approaches, application of the clinical decision making process, case studies

Learning Outcomes
1.Make the necessary evaluation, definition and planning for physiotherapy and rehabilitation applications by using theoretical and practical concepts and principles related to the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
2.Apply the physiotherapy and rehabilitation program in a systematic and safe manner within the framework of ethical principles by using the advanced knowledge and skills acquired; terminates or changes if necessary.
3.Take initiatives to protect public health; contributes to the development of health policies in line with the changing and diversifying needs of the society in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
4.Organize physiotherapy and rehabilitation services effectively and adequately, manage the business processes necessary for the continuity and development of quality and organizational function; produce solutions to problems in accordance with information and evidence.
5.Carries out professional and academic studies independently by using his / her know-how and works as a team member and takes responsibility in effective communication and cooperation with other professional groups working in this field.

Motor Learning Model and Physiological Basis of Functional Recovery-Neuroplasticity and physiotherapy

Motor learning principles and physiotherapy

Bobath approach, clinical problem solving process in Bobath approach. Workshop

Bobath-based assessment in stroke rehabilitation

In the Bobath Approach: Positioning, facilitation of movement in the upper, lower extremities and trunk, core and mat activities

In the Bobath Approach: In sitting, and facilitation of mobility and stability in sitting (midterm exam)

Identifying motor, sensory, cognitive, environmental, and personal deficiencies underlying different functional disorders in neurological patients with the Bobath approach, and creating a treatment plan with appropriate Bobath exercises. Workshop
