Objectives of the Course

To examine the responses of tissues to electrophysical modalities commonly used in physiotherapy and to teach application methods by considering the mechanisms of action of high frequency currents.

Course Content

Thermal mechanisms, pain inhibition, physiological responses in electrotherapy will be discussed and the basic properties and application principles of medium-high frequency currents will be discussed on a case basis.

Lec. Sercan AYKAR
Learning Outcomes
1.Learns the physiological mechanisms of action of medium-high frequency currents and TENS.
2.Learns the responses of tissues against electrotherapy modalities.
3.Learns the effects that may occur with medium-high frequency currents and TENS in different cases.
4.Plans and applies electrotherapy applications for cases.
5.Learns the possible risky effects of medium-high frequency currents and devices and takes precautions.
