Objectives of the Course

This course examines the European integration process from the Second World War to the present, addressing integration theories, as well as the key concepts, core institutions, dynamics, policies, and issues of the European Union (EU).The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the historical development, key theories, and institutional structures of European political integration.

Course Content

In this course, the European political integration process will be examined along with its historical development. Theories of European integration, the core institutions of the European Union, its decision-making mechanisms, and political structure will be analyzed. The course will also delve into core EU policies such as enlargement, foreign and security affairs, and migration, alongside an assessment of the EU’s evolving role on the global stage and the political crises it has encountered.
