Objectives of the Course

The course includes an introduction to athletics, the introduction of disciplines within athletics, the provision of general and technical information, and the practical teaching and learning of these disciplines. It aims to impart basic skills related to athletics and to provide the specific technical knowledge required for each event. After taking this course, students will acquire the fundamental skills related to the field of athletics.

Classification of athletics, measures to be taken to spread athletic culture, Straight Speed Run, Flag Run, Long Jump and Shot Put, Second Run of Hurdles, High Jump, Disc Throw, Multiple Shelters, Competition Organizations in Walking and Athletics, IAAF (International) Association of Athletic Federations) Children's Athletics program

1.To learn the rules of running, jumping, throwing, walking and competition related to athletics
2.To be able to define the field and equipment of disabled races, flat speed races and flag races,
3.To be able to define the field and equipments of long jump, three step jump, high jump and pole jump
4.To recognize the field and equipment of disc, shot put and hammer throw
5.To create athletic culture
