Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is students; Within the framework of contemporary folk definitions, the aim of this course is to recognize the scope, basic concepts and principles of folklore and to understand the research methods of folklore in the past and present.

Course Content

Public definitions in the past and present. The term folklore, its definition and scope. Study area, subject and general features. The history of folklore studies in the world and Turkey. Sources of folklore and its relation with other scientific raft. Folklore investigation methods.
